Our Locations
MY CRICKET AND ME is set all across the Midwest, South, and East Coast following the stops along the real-life tour that writer/director/star Gabriel Barreto took when working as a roadie for Willie Nelson & Family's summer 2008 Tour.
The filming locations will be slightly less expansive. We have already shot some scenes in Orlando, Florida at the Full Sail University Backlot, as well as shooting on location in Manhattan at the famous Chelsea Hotel and with Willie while on tour in Ridgefield, Connecticut and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Once principal photography begins, the majority of location shooting will take place in a single state that offers a diversity of natural landscapes and ample tax-based production incentives - states under consideration include, but are not limited to, Georgia, Kentucky, New York, New Jersey, and Ohio. The only departure would be for five day s to shoot in and around Austin, Texas. Most notably, we will be shooting at Luck, Texas on Willie Nelson's property. Luck is a western ghost town builtoriginally for the film Red Headed Stranger and would serve a weird and wild scene in our film.
